GrantSlam 8

Scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2005, GrantSlam 8 includes features of our previous versions but with a new database engine based on Open Source technologies. This new engine will give your institution a scalable platform to create an enterprise-wide solution, satisfying the needs of both the Central Administration and the IT department.

YOU ENTER ONCE, USE MANY TIMES FUTURE

With GrantSlam 8, we can now offer even greater value to your Sponsored Projects Office by communicating with your Human Resources, IRB, IACUC, and Accounting systems. While many of these solutions will need to be customized for your institution, we currently plan to support the major enterprise solutions that use a fully compliant SQL database structure, including the Kuali Project. Additionally, Version 8 will be able to interface with current proposal routing and approval processes.

There are many new features in GrantSlam, including the following:

  • Web browser client interface, scaleable to any size of workgroup,
  • Simplified WORD templates for Biosketches and Research Plan,
  • Unified WORD templates for both paper and electronic submission,
  • Document Management allows you store all of your plan documents on the server,
  • Single-button collation, page-numbering and printing of the entire grant proposal,
  • Detailed 5 year budget building,
  • Management reports from the entire proposal database,
  • Document and proposal security, and
  • Improved electronic proposal submission to NIH (and Grants.gov, as available).
